Cool Night
Produces Hot On Track Action At
Borger's
Tradition has
it the Labor Day weekend signals
the end of summer. Under fall like skies with a cool wind blowing
Saturday night’s fierce competition made up for the chill that was in the
air.
The big question at
Borger's is who can stop Rachel
Godusky? With a total of eight
feature wins, Rachel made it three in a row in Rookie 270 Sprints. Austin
Guelich took the early lead
followed by Zach
Weidner and
Godusky.
Godusky blasted into the lead on
a lap two restart while Tiffany Wambold
was charging through the pack. Securing third spot
Wambold got by Weidner setting up
another classic Godusky-Wambold
duel. Some good hard wheel rubbing action put
Wambold under
Godusky coming out of turn four
with two to go. Godusky was not
about to give up the number one spot taking starter Bobby
Stuhl’s
checkered flag with
Wambold glued to her bumper.
Zach Weidner finished third
followed by Derek Krum and Austin
Guelich.
If anyone has doubts
about the future of auto racing a lot can be said about the performance of
the Rookie 270 Sprint drivers. The future is definitely in good hands.
This can also be said about the young
All Star Slingshot drivers. When you mention youth in the
All Star Slingshots the name
Azzalina immediately comes to
mind. The brothers Zach and
Brandon have set the world on fire along with Ryan
Raidline and Brandon
Berger since moving up from the
Jr. Slingshots.
Tonight again would be
a night when the youth would shine. Starting from the pole Ryan
Raidline ran the race of his life
immediately opening a commanding lead followed by Justin
Zucal and
Zach
Azzalina. With his first win in
sight a caution came out putting the damper on
Raidline’s efforts.
Azzalina got by
Zucal and by half way had his
sights set on Raidline. On a
restart Azzalina got by
Raidline with Stan Friedman
moving into second and Zucal
third. Brandon Berger made the pass on
Zucal and Brandon Azzalina
who had no intentions of being left out
dashed into fourth spot. Friedman tried to run down
Zach but the red number 15 was
too strong and Friedman wound up in the runner up spot followed by Berger,
Brandon Azzalina, with
Zucal and
Raidline finishing a strong fifth
and sixth.
Keeping with the youth
theme what more can be said other then Jr. Slingshots? Bobby
Kibler Jr. made it win number
eight. With Kibler
opening a half a straightaway
lead the real race was for the number two spot between Joseph
Infante and Amber
Oraschin. Infante
holding a two point lead coming into this race over
Oraschin, the battle for second
spot took on a far greater
significance then the race finish.
Infante held on for the second place
finish increasing his point lead
over Oraschin. In her Jr.
Slingshot racing debute
Jenna Weidner put on a fine
performance to finish fourth in the Matt
Massone number 15.
In Stage One
Modifieds
Joel Smith took the
early lead with Matt Mattern Jr.
in hot pursuit.
While Smith could not shake the rest of the pack this set up a fierce four
car battle for second place. With Billy Fisher putting the pressure on
Mattern followed by
Bobby Smith Jr., and
Richie
Hissim,
Mattern, running the best race of
his career, held strong and took the runner up spot.
Bobby Smith got by
Fisher for third spot followed by Fisher and
Richie
Hissim.
In Hoosier 270 Sprints Tony
Scerbo made it win number four.
Scerbo led from the pole with
Kaitlyn
Oswalt a close second.
Steve Walters, who
has to be the hottest thing on four wheels at
Borgers,
coming off his win at the
West End Fair Nationals soon moved to third
spot. On a restart Bealer got by
Oswalt for third and with two to
go made the pass on Walters for second. Putting the pressure on
Scerbo,
Bealer did not have enough to get
around the high flying number 29.
Scerbo took the win with Bealer
second, Walters third followed by Oswalt
and Bruce Leote.

Borger's Friday
Jeff
Ubel made his first visit this
season to Borger's Speedway
victory lane in the Wingless 270 Sprint main event.
Ubel jumped to the early lead with
Ryan Neil and Chris
Oraschin in tow.
Oraschin got by Neil on lap two
with Tiffany Wambold making the
pass on Neil for third. Oraschin
who finally got the 270 Sprint Monkey off his back put pressure on
Ubel in the closing laps but
Ubel was too strong and took the
checkered flag.
Oraschin finished a close second
with Tiffany Wambold third.
Your first win is
always your sweetest and Tommy
Laga in his first visit to
Borger's Speedway scored
his first career Victory in Jr. Slingshots.
Laga and Tom
Arntz Jr. staged a thrilling two
car side by side battle the entire twenty lap distance. Numerous times
Arntz was under
Laga but
Laga kept the upper hand and
pulled his sleek number 38 racer into victory lane.
Arntz had to settle for second
with the
debute of his own number 31C
Slingshot.
Josh
Dalrymple continued his winning
ways taking the laurels in the Wingless 600 Sprints. Dalrymple
jumped to the learly lead with Rob
Vivona and Chris
Oraschin close behind. This is
how it would stay for the entire twenty lap race with
Dalrymple taking the win followed
by Vivona and
Oraschin.
The
All Star Slingshots staged the
very popular Cone Race with vetern
Richie
Hissim coming out on top.
Hissim led from the pole with
Jim Peters second.
In his first Borger's visit and
coming off a heat win Joe Bodenshotz
came from deep in the pack charging into third spot by the half way mark.
Bodenshotz got by Peters and put
the pressure on Hissim to try to
take the lead. The last two laps
Bodenshotz was glued to Hissim’s
rear bumper but the crafty Hissim
held on to the lead taking the Hammer Down
Dyno challenge.
Bodenshotz finished a close second
with Jim Peters third.

Five Feature Winners Account
For A
Total Of 25 Feature Wins In
2010 At Borger'
Harvest Moon.
(noun) …
The time approaching the
autumnal equinox when
there is little darkness between sunset and moonrise…a time when farmers
use the moonlight to harvest their crops
As the “Harvest Moon
shone down on Borger's Speedway
Saturday night the Borger's
Speedsters were not harvesting crops but were harvesting feature wins.
The 5 division feature winners have racked up a total of 25 feature wins
between them for the 2010 season
Tonight’s racing
featured a “Cone Race” for the Hoosier 270 Sprints,
All Star Slingshots, and Stage One
Modifieds
which was well received by the drivers and fans. After the original start
a Cone is placed at the start-finish line after a caution. The cars line
up single file for the restart and as they approach the cone each car
makes a decision as to which side of the cone they will start. Depending
on the driver’s choices a car from deep in the pack could advance his
starting position to the front of the pack. The drivers loved this idea
and it will definitely be done again in the future
In Hoosier 270 Sprints
Pat Bealer made it win number 5.
As if they were shot out of a
cannon Dave Dornblaser and Pat
Bealer jumped to the early lead
with Jeff Ubel in tow. On a
restart Bealer took the lead with
Steve Walters moving
to third spot. Another restart put Walters in the number two spot and it
would remain Bealer, Walters,
Dornblaser,
Ubel, and JJ
Uliana to the
checkered flag.
Rookie 270 Sprint winner Rachel Godusky
would turn in a very impressive run for sixth place. As the checkered
flag waved Brandon Poff was
involved in a tangle that sent him flipping out of turn four as the pack
headed for the finish line
Quite possibility the
two “Hottest Women” in Rookie 270 Sprint racing make their home at
Borger's Speedway and tonight they
did not leave their fans down. Rachel
Godusky and Tiffany Wambold
staged a wheel to wheel battle that kept the fans on the edge of their
seats with Godusky making it win
number 7. Derek Krum held the early lead until lap three when
Godusky got by,
On lap four Wambold moved
to third and the next lap passed Krum setting up the two car battle to the
finish. Godusky would prove to be
too strong and took the win with Wambold
glued to her back bumper. Derek Krum finished third followed by Alex
Reinsmith and Raymond Groff
In
All Star Slingshots Stan Friedman found himself in an “Azzalina
Sandwich” with Brandon in the lead and
Zach in third. All good sandwiches need a bit of mustard and
Friedman found enough mustard to get by Brandon to take the lead. As the
Azzalina brothers put the pressure
on Friedman, Jim Bassett was charging like a “Raging
Bull.” Bassett made the pass on the
Azzalinas but did not have enough
to snatch the win from Friedman. Friedman
made it win number 5 followed by Bassett, Brandon
Azzalina,
Zach
Azzalina, and Bob Camps
Amber
Oraschin made it win number 4
in Saturday Jr. Slingshots. The
“Pint Sized Powerhouse” took the lead from pole sitter Bobby
Kibler Jr. and never looked back.
Kibler
and point leader Joseph Infante
kept the pressure on but it would go down to the checkered flag as
Oraschin,
Kibler, and
Infante. Tonight’s race
tightens up the hotly contested point battle which is the closest in all
three Saturday night divisions. Infante
has held the point lead all season but at this point it will go right down
to the wire to determine the 2010 championship.
Bobby Smith Jr.
made it win number 4 in Stage One
Modifieds. Smith took the early lead and never gave up the number
one spot. Billy Fisher chased Smith to the checker with John Coon
finishing a strong third

Borger's
Beats The Rain As Teams Prepare For The West End Fair Nationals
As the
checkered flag fell
on the Hoosier 270 Sprint feature a gentle rain started falling as the
Sprints, Slingshots,
and Stage One Modifieds capped a
night of preperation for the West
End Fair Nations this coming Thursday August 26.
The light rain did not
dampen the spirits of Steve
Walters who made it win number two in the Hoosier 270 Sprints.
Numerous times this year Walters had victory in grasp only to have it
snatched from him in the closing laps due to mechanical problems. His
previous win was almost cut short
by a car that developed a miss in the final laps. Tonight would be very
different as he dominated the entire 25 lap feature.
Walters jumped to the
early lead with Kaitlyn
Oswalt and Brett
Conkling hot on his tail.
Conkling used a restart to make the
pass on Oswalt for second and that
is how it stayed the rest of the race. Coming from seventeenth starting
spot a very impressive performance by Pat
Bealer landed him fourth place followed by Nathan Hahn and Rookie
Sprint feature winner Zach
Weidner coming home
for sixth.
This past week was a
very proud and exciting time for Melissa
Azzalina. There is no better feeling then the feeling of
accomplishment and rightly so. Melissa “Aced” her final college exams,
made the Dean’s List and celebrated a birthday August 21. Her son
Zach decided to give Mom a special
birthday present and went out and won the
All Star Slingshot feature for his proud mom.
Whenever the
All Star Slingshots take to the
track an Azzalina is never too far
from the front and tonight would be no different.
John Drake took the
early lead with Stan Friedman and Zach
Azzalina in pursuit. Drake held
the lead until dropping out after making contact with the backstretch
wall. Azzalina took advantage of
the situation and got by Friedman followed by
Terry Frey.
Friedman regained second with JR Fulper
moving to third. The positions would remain the same and
Azzalina would enter victory lane.
Terry Frey held on for fourth spot with
Brandon Berger and
Brandon Azzalina sixth. Bobby
Kibler Jr. moving up from the Jr.
Slingshots finished an impressive seventh.
Joel Smith
continued his dominance of the Stage One
Modifieds and won feature number six. While Smith
opened a straightaway lead the real
battle was with Jim
Hendry and Kyle
Rohner for the number two spot. In
the best race of his career Jim Hendry
held on for the runner up spot and
Dave Dornblaser made a late race
pass to grab third place from Rohner.
Most guys would love
to have two girls chasing them and
would love to have them catch them in the end. Not so when you are racing
for the feature win in a “High Speed” Rookie 270 Sprint. This was the
case tonight as Zach Weidner made
it win number four. Weidner won the race to turn one with Tiffany
Wambold and Raymond Groff. Soon
Rachel Godusky would enter the
picture and get by Groff on a restart.
Godusky used another restart to get by
Wambold but now Derek Krum was on
the move from deep in the pack. With the two female “Hot Shoes” breathing
down his back Weidner would not budge and took starter Bobby Stull’s
checkered flag. Following Weidner was
Godusky, Wambold, Krum, and
Zach
Bealer. Sheldon
Iudicello turned in a strong
performance for sixth
In Jr. Slingshots John
Dvorscak came home the winner with
Amber Oraschin and Joseph
Infante. With the Jr. Slingshots
point race being the
tightest of the five divisions it will go right down to the wire for the
championship with Joseph Infante
holding a slight lead over Amber Oraschin
and John Dvorscak.

In Wingless 270 Sprint
action Ryan Neil became a first time winner under crisp, clear late autumn
skies at Borger's Speedway. Neil
took the early lead over Kurt Bettler
and Tim Quinter and that is low it stayed the entire 20 laps. Neil took
starter Rich Raidline’s
checkered flag with
the Quinter Stable having an outstanding
night with Kurt Bettler in
the runner up spot and teammate Tim Quinter third.
Wingless 600 Sprints
saw Josh Dalrymple cruise to his
second win of the season. Dalrymple
jumped to the early lead with Luke
Schostkewitz getting by
Chris
Oraschin for
second on lap two. This is how
it would stay for the duration with the race going non stop.
Dalrymple went to victory lane
with Luke Shostkewitz turning in
a fine performance for second and point leader Chris
Oraschin third.
Once again the hot
action was with the All Star
Slingshots. Greg Zellman led the
charge to turn one with Jim Peters blasting by on lap two
and Dan Shafer making the pass
for second. As Peters got sideways Shafer
took advantage and gained the
number one spot. On a restart Peters regained the lead with Nick Snyder
putting pressure on the leaders but Peters proved to be too strong and

Borger's
Stars Shine For Blue Ridge Cable
TV13 Night At The Races
Speedway owners Glenn
and Ruth Borger presented the annual Blue Ridge Cable TV13 night at
Borger's Speedway with five
cameras capturing all the action featuring the stars of
Borger's Speedway.
Dave
Dornblaser backed up last week’s
feature win in Hoosier 270 Sprints
by winning the dash to turn one.
Dornblaser set a blistering pace as
Chris Oraschin and Brett
Conkling took chase.
Conkling eventually got by
Oraschin followed by Nathan Hahn.
As Conkling tried to run down
Dornblaser Tony
Scerbo made the pass on Hahn for
third place. The four leaders burned up the track as the laps wound down
with Dornblaser taking the win
followed by brilliant performances
by Conkling,
Scerbo, and Hahn.
In Rookie 270 Sprints
Rachel Godusky proved to be the
top dog for the TV13 cameras. The race was only ½
lap down when
Zach Weidner brought out the red
flag flipping on the backstretch.
Godusky took the lead from Austin
Guelich on lap three with Zach
Bealer on her tail and Tiffany
Wambold moving
into third spot.
Wambold got by
Bealer for second and in a late
race charge tried to wrestle the top spot from
Godusky.
Godusky proved to be too strong
and took starter Bobby Stull’s
checkered flag
followed by Wambold and
Zach
Bealer.
Another action packed
event for All Star Slingshots saw
Brandon Azzalina taking the lead
on lap one from pole sitter Mike Moyer. 2009 point champion Matt
Dealaman began a charge through
the pack to second spot followed
by
John Drake. This set up a three car battle for the lead. Drake
pouring on the steam got by Dealaman
and Azzalina with
Dealaman also getting by
Azzalina for second.
Dealaman made the pass on Drake
for the lead and history repeated itself when the five
laps to go sign came out and once
again Drake mysteriously faded to fifth spot.
Dealaman
would take the checkered flag with Brandon
Azzalina second and Stan Friedman
third.
Joseph
Infante once again paid a visit to
victory lane in the Jr. Slingshot feature.
Infante would lead every lap to
take the win over Amber Oraschin,
John Dvorscak, and Bobby
Kibler

New Faces
In Jr. Slingshots and Wingless 600
Sprints Toughen The
Competition At Borger's
Jim Conroy First Time
Winner
Bealer,
Chris and Amber
Oraschin Repeat Winners On Lucky
Friday The 13t
Jim Conroy has been
trying hard the entire season in
Borger's All Star
Slingshots. Tonight his persistence paid off as he wheeled the white
number 64J to victory lane. Conroy brought the field down to the
green flag with Rich
Hissim in pursuit followed by
Jim Peters. This is
how the race would stay the entire 20 laps. Conroy drove a flawless race
as Hissim and Peters tried their
best to get around Conroy to keep
him from victory lane. It was not to be and the race would go non stop
giving Conroy his first win and the
Hammerdown Dyno Challenge
bucks with Hissim and Peters a
close second and third.
New faces tightened the already tough
competition in the Jr. Slingshot division. Jim Molson and
Jenna
Shostkewitz gave Amber
Oraschin and Tom
Arntz Jr. a run for their money
in the Junior
Slingshot main. Coming off a heat
win Jim Molson took the early lead with
Jenna Shostkewitz hot on
his rear bumper.
Oraschin and
Arntz got by
Shostkewitz on lap three with
Amber passing Molson
for the lead the next lap.
Molson would hang tough on Oraschin
but did not have quite enough to regain the lead. Likewise
Shostkewitz would keep the
pressure on Arntz to the
checkered flag
finishing a close fourth to third place
Arntz.
If anyone has any
questions on the future of racing, the future clearly is in good hands
with the performances these fine kids are putting on.
In Wingless 600
Sprints it was the Chris and Josh show as the two speedsters locked in a
two car battle for the 20 lap main. Newcomer Joe Smith would become a
thorn in Oraschin and
Dalrymple’s sides as he kept the
pressure on for the number one spot. Soon Rob
Vivona would make it a four car
battle for the lead but a tangle
in turn two put Luke Shostkewitz
in fourth spot and this is how it would end. Rob
Vivona
recovered for fifth and Cody Smith in his first appearance
finished a respectable sixth in front of Colton Rex.
The big question in the
Wingless 270 Sprints is who can stop Pat
Bealer. If the racing Friday night is any indication of the
Wingless 270
Octoberfest
this series will prove to be a real barnburner.
Pat
Bealer jumped to the early lead
with Tiffany Wambold on his
tail. Getting by Wambold,
Louie Horvath and Darin Bartholomew would prove to be a force to
be reckoned with. The trio would stage a tight three car battle for the
lead and soon Brendon
Poff making a run from the rear
would join the hunt. The four cars would stay locked together in
an edge of your
seat race for the checkered
flag.
Bealer held on for the win
with Horvath, Bartholomew, and Poff
all under a blanket.

Dave
Dornblaser nabbed the
guaranteed starting spot for the West End Fair
Nationals in the Hoosier
270 Sprints. Dornblaser
set a blistering pace from the drop of the green with Mark
Manieri hot on his tail.
Manieri in his best race
of the season tried every trick in the book to get by the high
flying Dornblaser, but
Dornblaser kept shutting
the door. At the
checkered flag it was
Dornblaser and Manieri
with Kurt Bettler
bringing home the Fred Bittner 54 in third spot. Fine runs by
Brett Conkling and
Brandon Poff rounded out
the top five and rookies Rachel
Godusky and Zach

victory lane and tonight was his night to shine.
Guelich took the early
lead in the rookie 270 Sprint main with
Zac
Bealer and
Missi
Seip putting the pressure
on the 7G. Raymond Groff coming on strong grabbed the third spot

Guelich was just to
strong and took starter Bobby Stull’s checkered flag. An ever
improving Zach Farleigh
would finish a strong fourth and newcomer
Derick
Stenlake rounded out the
top five
Richie
Hissim had the
Midway Lights of the West
End Fair in sight as he took the guaranteed starting spot for the
second year in a row in All Star
Slingshots. Mike Glass won the drag race to turn one at the drop
of the green and started to build a small lead over
Hissim. On lap thirteen
Glass’s night would end as he coasted to a stop on the backstretch
which put Kurt Bettler in
the number two spot. Where there’s smoke there’s fire and the
fire came in the form of Brandon
Azzalina as he blasted into third spot and tried to chase
down the leaders. The race would end with
Hissim in the top spot
followed by Bettler and
Azzalina
John
Dvorscak made it win
number four in Jr. Slingshots besting Joseph

Kenseth
Crew Visits Borgers Speedway
On Night Of Triumph and Heartbreak.
Billy Fisher has
finished in the bridesmaid position in Stage One Modified Racing at
Borger's Speedway much more then
he would like and triumph had only been a dream.
So near and yet so far finishing second
best to the best. Tonight that would all change. From the drop of
the green Fisher was fast, very fast. Soon
Joel Smith would be
glued to Fisher’s rear bumper trying to keep the red white and
blue 00 from that elusive
checkered flag. As
the laps wound down the battle became more
fierce and Bobby
Smith Jr. joined the hunt. The Smith cousins put the pressure on
Fisher but this was to be his night of triumph. Fisher edged out Joel
Smith at the checkered flag
with Bobby Smith Jr.
third.
Once again Matt
Kenseth’s crew members made the
trip to Borger's Speedway to
compete in the Kenseth Pit Crew
Challenge in the Stage One Modifieds.
Triumph was in store for Kenseth
Crew Member and former Mahoning
Speedway modified racer Brent Wentz Brent the son of former modified star
Gary Wentz wheeled the 555 around the tight 1/7 mile oval to take starter
Bobby Stull’s checkered flag. The
Kenseth crew put on another fine show and the management at
Borger's Speedway would like to
thank the guys for taking time out of their busy schedule to race at
Borger's.
Triumph came in threes
to Tony Scerbo in Hoosier 270
action as he picked up his third win of the season.
Kaitlyn
Oswalt jumped to the early lead
with Scerbo making the pass on lap
three. A restart put Pat Bealer
in the mix but Scerbo turned laps
at a torrid pace with Oswalt in
hot pursuit.
Scerbo would prove to be too
strong for Oswalt but
Kaitlyn held off point leader Pat
Bealer who tried every trick in
the book to get by.
It looked like triumph
would finally come to Raymond Groff in
the Rookie Sprint main.
Groff running the
best race of his career held of a hard charging Tiffany
Wambold lap after lap. Each go
around Wambold
tried to make the pass but Groff would not budge. With the checkered
flag waving coming out of turn four Groff’s triumph tuned to heartbreak as
Wambold edged out Groff at the
finish line by .029 of a second with Zach
Weidner third.
All Star
Singshots finish is
UNOFFICIAL pending
results of post race tech.
Zach
Azzalina took advantage of Mike
Moyer’s misfortune to score back to back wins in
All Star Slingshot action. The
story of the night had to be Mike Moyer. Moyer jumped to the early lead
with Ryan Raidline hot on his
tail. Raidline coming off his
first heat win since moving to the All
Star division put the pressure on Moyer. With Moyer driving a
masterful race soon Brandon Azzalina
would make it a three car battle for the lead.
Azzalina moved to the second spot
as Raidline spun in turn two and
the race of Moyer’s life was shaping up. Moyer and
Azzalina battled side by side with
Moyer holding off the hard charging
Azzalina. With victory in sight coming out of turn four on lap
twenty two contact was made which
sent Moyer spinning to the infield turning triumph to heartbreak. Being
in the right place at the right time Zach
Azzalina inherited the lead and
coasted to the win. Stan Friedman was second with
Brandon Berger
third.
Triumph smiled down on
Amber Oraschin as she made her way
to victory lane in Jr. Slingshot action. Amber jumped to the early lead
which soon became a three car shootout with Joseph
Infante and John
Dvorscak. As
Oraschin opened a small lead
Infante brought out the yellow
which moved Dvorscak to second.
Oraschin was not to be caught with
Dvorscak finishing second and
Infante recovering for third.

Bealer
Unbeatable At Borger's Friday
Dalrymple
and
Timar First Time Winners
Oraschin and Snyder Head To
West End Fair.
The big question is who can beat Pat
Bealer in Friday night Wingless
270 Sprints at Borger's
Speedway.
A strong field of Wingless 270 Sprints tried but all came up short. Pat
Bealer took the early lead
followed by Tim Quinter. Jeff Ubel
got by Quinter with Tiffany Wambold
following. A tangle in turn two knocked out
Wambold
and put Kurt
Bettler in third spot.
Bealer,
Ubel, and
Bettler would stage a three car
battle to the finish ending in that order.
Josh
Dalrymple paid his first visit to
victory lane in Wingless 600 Sprint competition. Josh and
Chris
Oraschin took the early lead with
Colton Rex on their tales. Dalrymple
did not miss a tick as the race went non-stop to take starter Rich
Raidline’s
checkered flag
followed by Oraschin and Rex.
Due to a schedule conflict
Dalrymple would not be able to
race at
West End so the guaranteed starting sport
went to second place Chris Oraschin.
In
All Star Slingshot action
Jim Conroy out drug
pole sitter Kurt Bettler to turn
one. Nick Snyder soon got by Conroy
putting the pressure on Bettler.
The outside lane proved to be the fast way around as Snyder got by
Bettler on a lap nine restart.
Snyder and Bettler locked in a
tight battle for the lead with Snyder edging out
Bettler to take the Snyder Stairs
number 7 to victory lane and also clinching the
West End Fair
qualifying spot along with the Hammerdown
Dyno Challenge cash with Conroy
finishing a close third.
The big story of the
night had to be 10 year old Amber
Oraschin. Having the Friday Jr. Slingshot championship locked up
Amber made the move Friday to the All
Star division. Amber quickly came from the rear moving at a rapid
pace catching the three leaders to finish a strong fourth place.
Another new face in
victory lane as Nick Timar scored
his first Jr. Slingshot feature win.
Timar jumped into the early lead with Tom
Arntz Jr. second. The race would
go non-stop giving Timar his first
checkered flag. Arntz would
finish second with Angelica Timar
third.

Christmas Comes Early To Leote,
Weidner, Kibler,
Azzalina At Borgers
Santa Claus brought his bag of goodies to celebrate
Borger's
Christmas In July in grand style
Bruce
Leote has not been naughty but nice and got
his wish from Santa. So nice he made it to
victory lane for the second time in Hoosier 270 Sprints at
Borger's Speedway. As snow flakes began to
fall it turned into a “Winter
Wonderland” as Leote blasted into the
lead at the drop of the green with Tony Scerbo
in tow. Dave Dornblaser and
Steve Walters got by
Scerbo to make it a race
for second spot. Pat Bealer slipped
by Walters to move into second place but Leote
resembling a “Guided Mistletoe” was not to be
denied his second win of the season. Dornblaser
finished second with Bealer third
Zach
Weidner had his “Sleigh
Bells” ringing as he devastated the field of Rookie Sprints for his
third win of the season. Derek Krum and Rachel
Godusky were in a tight battle for second but Tiffany
Wambold was on the move. Soon Raymond Groff
was in the hunt as Krum faded and Godusky
moved into second with Wambold third. Weidner
made his way to victory lane to the “Ho Ho
HO” of Santa followed by
Godusky and Wambold
Santa’s eight reindeer
might be able to take him around the world in twenty four hours but they
were no match for Zach
Azzalina’s rapid trip around Borger's
Speedway in All Star
Slingshot action.
Bob Camps was the early leader but Azzalina
got by on lap two. Rich Hissim soon put the
pressure on Camps to make it a “Yuletide
Battle’ for second spot. There was no catching the red and white “Sleigh”
of Azzalina as Camps and
Hissim battled to the wire for second
and third. In fact Azzalina was so hot that
in victory lane Santa’s beard caught fire but it was quickly extinguished.
Rudolph with your nose
so bright won’t you guide my sleigh tonight. Bobby
Kibler Jr. did not need no “Red Nose Reindeer” to find the quick
way around Borger's Speedway in
Jr Slingshot Action.
Kibler backed up his Friday night Jr. Slingshot win by winning his
seventh Saturday night
feature. John Dvorscak “Jingle Belled”
his way around pole sitter Amber Oraschin with
Kibler hot on his tail.
Kibler took the lead on lap five and soon Joseph
Infante was putting the pressure on
Dvorscak. Infante
made the pas to finish second with Dvorscak
third.
At intermission as Steve Heckman and
Bobby Stull sang “White
Christmas” Santa was driven into the speedway by Bruce “Rudolph”
Knitter and greeted the kids in the grandstand handing out gifts and a
bicycle which was donated by Steve Heckman Designs. Even Glen “Pap”
Borger was seen wearing a
Santa Claus hat for the evening’s festivities and Mrs. Claus, Ruth
Borger, was handing out ice pops to the kids. . Santa, who had been on
vacation in the Bahamas, placed his finger aside of his nose and up the
chimney he rose to work on his tan and get ready for the upcoming
Christmas season.

Colton Rex and Bobby
Kibler Jr. Make Their Mark In
Borger's Victory
Lane.
Bettler Ups The
Hammerdown Dyno Challenge Ante.
Colton Rex has been
running strong the entire season in Wingless 600 Sprint competition at
Borger's Speedway. The raindrops falling in victory lane did little to
dampen the joy of Colton Rex winning his first Wingless 600 Sprint feature
at Borger's Speedway
From the drop of the
green it was all Colton Rex. Soon Jason VonDoren entered the picture and
the two staged a thrilling side by side duel until point leader
Chris Oraschin brought out the yellow flag. On the restart
VonDoren jumped the start giving the lead back to Rex who raced to the
checkered flag. Chris Oraschin recovered for second with VonDoren
third
With Kurt Bettler’s
second straight All Star
Slingshot win the pot is growing for the Hammerdown Dyno Challenge
bonus. Greg Zellman and Bettler out drug pole sitter Scotty Miller to
turn two and Bettler wasted no time in getting by Zellman to take the lead
and never looked back. The real battle was for second place between
Zellman and Richie Hissim with Zellman coming out on top.
Bobby Kibler Jr.
carried his Saturday winning ways over to Friday night and took the Jr.
Slingshot Main over point leader Amber Oraschin. Tom Arntz Jr., who is
looking stronger each week, finished third.

Bealer,
Berger Unbeatable At Borger's
Pat
Bealer backed up his Friday night Wingless 270
Sprint win with another trip to victory lane in Hoosier 270 Sprint action
at Borge's Speedway. At the drop of the green
Steve Walters took
off like a rocket with Brett Conkling hot on
his tail. Soon Tony Scerbo and
Bealer got by Conkling
and moved into second and third. Bealer got
by Scerbo and with two to go made the pass on
Walters. Steve Walters had to settle for the runner up spot with Brett
Conkling third.
Brandon Berger
has been running strong all year in All Star
Slingshots and
tonight would be his night to shine. In the May 29 make up feature Berger
jumped to the early lead with
Terry Frey on his
bumper. This was to be short lived as Brandon
Azzalina passed car after car to move into second place,
Azzalina could not mount s serious
charge on the leader as Berger ran a flawless race to score his first
All Star Slingshot win.
Azzalina finished second with brother
Zach third.
In Rookie Sprints
Derek Krum led the first five laps but Tiffany
Wambold got by on lap six. Krum proved to be a serious challenge
for Wambold but did not have enough to regain
the lead. Wambold took starter Bobby Stull’s
checkered flag with
Krum second and Rachel Godusky third.
In the regular
All Star Slingshot feature pole sitter Barry
Camps took the early lead with Stan Friedman in
hot pursuit. While
they were locked in a battle for the lead
John Drake was
coming through the pack like a screaming freight train. Drake soon picked
off Friedman and on a lap 9 restart got by Camps and was gone. Brandon
Azzalina made it past Friedman to finish
second with Friedman third.
In the Jr. Slingshot
Feature early leader Nick Timar looked to be
the man to beat, With Amber Oraschin putting
the pressure on, Timar drove the best race of
his career to hold the number one spot. Bobby Kibler
Jr. made a pass on Oraschin for second and on
lap 14 made the pass on Timar.
Kibler pulled into victory lane with
Timar a close second and Amber
Oraschin third.
In Stage One
Modifieds it was a Smith Family Affair.
Cousins Bobby and Joel
Smith put on heart pounding duel that kept the
Borger's fans on the edge of their seats. This went
on the entire 20 non stop lap distance with
Bobby edging out Joel at the finish line in the closest finish of the
season for the Stage One Modifieds. Billy
Fisher turned in another strong finish for third spot.

Brett Smith Wins
First Wingless 600 Sprints
Bettler,
Bealer, and Amber
Oraschin Repeat
Brett Smith is no stranger to
Borger's Speedway victory lane with 11
All Star Slingshot wins. Tonight Brett entered victory lane as the
Wingless 600 Sprint winner.
Bobby
Butler led from the drop of the green only to have Smith hot on
his
tail. It looked to be a Butler and Smith duel until Butler slowed to a
stop on the backstretch. After that it was all Brett Smith. Another fine
run by Josh Darylrymple put him in second spot
with point leader Chris
Oraschin third.
In Wingless 270 Sprint action once again it was the Pat
Bealer show. Bealer
was the early leader with Rob Pajauis and Jeff
Ubel in tow. Pajauis
slipped by Bealer but
Bealer regained the lead on a restart and now Brandon
Poff was entering the picture.
Poff in only his second start of the year ran
a strong race and looked to be a solid third place finisher until he
became a victim being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Pajauis also a victim of the wreck recovered
for third with Louie Horvath second.
Kurt Bettler kept the
Hammerdown Dyno
Challenge bucks in the family winning his fourth All
Star Slingshot win of the year.
Jim Peters was the
early leader but Bettler wasted little time in
taking the lead. While Bettler and Peters
widened the distance between them and third place a battle was developing
between Mike Butler
and JR Fulper. At the drop of the
checkered flag
Bettler edged out Peters with
Butler coming out on top
of Fulper.
Brett Hoffmaster is the all time Jr. Slingshot
feature winner at Borger's Speedway with 16
wins. Amber Oraschin is looking to knock
Hoffmaster out of the top spot. With 11 wins so far this
season and with the year she is having it
looks like Hoffmaster’s record could very well
be in jeopardy. The petite brunette from
Palmer Township, Pa.
made it one step closer with her win over Tom Arntz
Jr. With Amber all but having the
Friday night championship
wrapped up and father Chris the current Friday night Wingless 600 Sprint
point leader we could very well see the first father and daughter point
champions in Borger's Speedway history. Amber
is currently second in points on Saturday night and also has a short at
that championship.

Bruce
Leote Wins First
270 Sprint Feature In Front Of Large Borger's
Crowd
Bruce
Leote won a Wingless 270 Sprint feature at
Borger's Speedway a few years ago but
the “Big One” has always eluded him. Leote
has been running strong all year coming up short
numerous times and everyone knew a win was in his future.
Saturday night as raindrops started to fall it all came together in front
of one of the biggest crowds of the season as Leote
pulled into victory lane.
Leote
charged into the lead passing pole sitter Kaitlyn
Oswalt on lap two. From lap three
Leote led every go around running a flawless
race. Defending 2009 Hoosier 270 Sprint champion Pat
Bealer was determined not to make Leote’s
job an easy one trying every trick in the book to get around the high
flying Leote but it was not to be.
Leote took starter Bobby Stull’s
checkered flag with Bealer a close
second and Steve Walters
third.
In the make up Hoosier
270 Sprint feature JJ Uliana made it win
number two for 2010. Uliana jumped to the
early lead with Tony Scerbo hot on his tail.
Soon Dave Dornblaser and Pat
Bealer were in hot pursuit. The four were
locked in a tight battle for the lead and the race went caution less for
the next 23 laps. On a last lap restart Uliana
never gave up an inch and went on to his second win of the season. Tony
Scerbo was second with Dave
Dornblaser third.
At intermission 2010 Ms.
Borgers Speedway Tiff
Coons, and 2009 Ms. Borger's Speedway
Jess Coons said they want their grandfather’s racecars. Stan Friedman
said not so fast. Not for at least another 10 years. Off those words 70
year old Stan Friedman added another All Star
Slingshot win to his career that has spanned the past 30 years. From the
drop of the green Friedman was in an Azzalina
brothers sandwich with Zach in the lead
and Brandon third. Friedman wrestled the lead
from Zach on a restart and soon Bill
Wever, JR Fulper,
Cody Kline and Matt Massone were in the hunt.
Weaver got by Zach and Brandon to chase
Friedman to the checkered
flag. Zach
Azzalina finished a close third with Jr.
Fulper getting by Brandon Azzalina for
fourth.
Rachel
Godusky made in three in a row in Rookie 270
Sprint action. Early leader Austin Guelich
was soon pursued by Tiffany Wambold but on a
restart Godusky blasted by
Wambold and Guelich
with Zach Weidner on her tail. The rest of
the way it was Godusky and Weidner with Derek
Krum also getting by Wambold. As the laps
wore down Wambold
got by Krum to finish third.
In Jr. Slingshots John
Dvorscak made it win number three. It was
Dvorscak, Joseph Infante,
and Bobby Kibler Jr. all the way. By half way
Kibler got by Infante
and had Dvorscak in his cross hairs but
Infante had other ideas and slipped by
Kibler. In the end Angelica
Timar finished second with
Kibler coming back for third.
Joel Smith
led every lap to win the caution free Stage One Modified main. Smith was
like a bullet and devastated the rest of the field to make it win number
eight. Bobby Smith Jr.
was third and making his return Billy Fisher finished third.

Hissim,
Oraschin and Oraschin
Beat The Heat At Borger's
Rich
Hissim passed pole sitter Scott Miller in turn
three and never looked back in All Star
Slingshot action to claim the Hammerdown
Dyno Services Challenge Award. For those that
don’t already know, the good folks at Hammerdown
Dyno Services have posted a $10 bonus to the
winner of any Friday night show that can beat their house car driven by
Kurt Bettler throughout the 2010 racing season
at Borger's. If Kurt wins the money is rolled
over to the next winner. Owner Dennis Bettler,
“ it is a small way we can help to give back
something to the racers in these tough economic times. “ Hammerdown
provides an affordable service which enables competitors to gain maximum
performance from their motors along with other set up services..
Hissim
pulled away from the pack but soon Kurt Bettler
put the pressure on Hissim to keep the
Hammerdown award in the family. As
Hissim and Bettler
were locked in a battle for the lead a fierce battle was developing for
third spot. Greg Zellman, JR
Fulper and Brandon
Azzalina were dicing in a tight pack soon to be joined by Michael
Glass and
Jim Peters. As Hisssim edged out
Bettler for the
checkered flag JR
Fulper made the pass on
Zellman to finish third.
In Wingless 600 Sprint action Rob
Vivano jumped to the early lead with Tex
Snyder on his tail. The caution flag flew and on the restart Snyder got
past Vivona. Coming down the backstretch the
leaders got together triggering the most violent
double flip in the history of Borger's
Speedway. Going into turn three Vivona’s car
flipped end over end as high as the top of the third turn fence with
Snyder flipping underneath. As the dust cleared both drivers were badly
shaken but had no serious injuries.
Chris Oraschin inherited the lead and
went on to win his sixth feature of the year. A very impressive finish
for Josh Darylrymple and
Colten Rex rounded out the top three.
Darylrymple and Rex are two drivers looking to make the headlines
in the near future.
Amber
Oraschin was not to be out done by her father Chris. The driver of
the car number 10 Jr. Slingshot equaled her car number in feature wins and
made it win number 10. Tom Arntz Jr. who is
looking better each week finished second.

Bealer,
Camps, Godusky, Kibler,
and Bob Smith Jr.
Explode In
Borgers Firecracker 40’s.
Pat Bealer
seems to have found a permanent home in Borger's
Speedway Victory Lane. Bealer backed up his
Friday Wingless 270 win by taking the Borger's
Firecracker 40 for Hoosier 270 Sprints.
Clint
Porvaznik took the early lead with Kaitlyn
Oswalt blasting into second spot. Nathan Hahn
and Pat Bealer slipped by
Oswalt on a
restart and began to chase down Provaznik.
Taking the green on another restart the leaders got together starting an 8
car pile up that saw Steve Dzienis flipping
down the frontstretch bringing out the red
flag. When the race resumed it was Bealer, Dave
Dronblaser, and Oswalt
running one, two, and three for the duration.
In All Star
Slingshot action Bob Camps made it win number two for 2010. Pole sitter
Mike Moyer held the lead for the first three laps until Camps got by on
lap four. Camps started opening up a strong lead but soon the
Azzalina brothers were hot on his tail. A
three car battle for the lead developed with Camps,
Zach Azzalina, and Brandon
Azzalina.
Brandon
slipped by brother Zach but there was no
catching the high flying Camps. Camps, Brandon, and
Zach Azzalina would take starter Bobby
Stull’s checkered flag
in that order.
Once again Rachel
Godusky made her way to victory lane in Rookie
270 action. Zach Weidner took the early lead
but soon Raymond Groff who has been running strong all year got by in turn
one. Groff opened
up a good lead but Godusky got by Weidner and
made a serious challenge to Groff. Groff remained in
control and it looked like he was on his way to his first win when
a bobble in turn four allowed Godusky to get
by. Groff finished second with Zach Weidner
third.
Bobby
Kibler Jr. made it win number 5 in Jr.
Slingshot action. Kibler jumped into the lead
but Amber Oraschin was determined to make his
job difficult. With Orachin putting the
pressure on Kibler soon a battle developed for
third spot with John Dvorscak and Joseph
Infante. Infante
got by Dvorscak making it a
Kibler, Oraschin,
Infante threesome to the
checkered flag.
Bobby Smith Jr.
made it win number one in the Stage One Modifieds.
Smith led every lap with Kyle Rohner and
Joel Smith in hot
pursuit. As the laps wound down Rohner and
Joel Smith tried to close the gap but fell short in the caution free
event.
A very happy Bobby Smith Jr.
was joined in victory lane by his grandmother
Evelyn
Smith wife of the legendary Roy Smith.

Repeat Winners
Bassett First Time Winner
At Borgers Friday.
Chad
VanHorn has taken a liking to
Borger's Speedway Wingless 600 Sprint racing.
In his first visit Chad won the "Battle In The
Burg" and on his return trip found himself in victory lane once again.
Brett Smith who was a familiar name in Slingshot racing at
Borger's outdrug
pole sitter Tex Snyder to grab the lead going into turn one. Soon point
leader Chris
Oraschin made his way through the pack and got
in a two car duel with Smith. Smith and Oraschin
racing for the top spot tangled coming out of turn two
and VanHorn slipped by. Smith
recovered and challenged VanHorn in a two car
battle to the
checkered flag with Van Horn coming out on top. Smith finished
second with Josh Dalrymple third.
Pat
Bealer who is no stranger to
Borger's Speedway victory lane found himself
on the concrete checker board once again. Bealer
jumped into the early lead but was overtaken by Louie Horvath on a restart
and it appeared Horvath was on his way to his second Wingless 270 Sprint
win of the season. With Bealer hot on his
tail Horvath got sideways in turn four allowing
Bealer to slip by. Brayden
Winters also got by and chased
Bealer to the checkered flag. Winters
finished second with Horvath third
Since Jim Bassett made
Borger's Speedway his Friday night home for
All Star Slingshot racing he has turned in
some impressive finishes. Tonight would be his turn to make his first
visit to victory lane. Starting on the pole Bassett led every lap to take
starter Rich Raidline’s checkered flag. While
Bassett ran away from the rest of the pack a torrid 5 car battle for
second place developed with
Jim Peters, JR Fulper, Greg
Zellman, Rich Hissim,
and Kurt Bettler. Fulper
gained and held the number two spot with Bettler
third.
In Jr. Slingshot
action Amber Oraschin added to her win list by

Brandon
Azzalina Wins Drake Memorial
Steve
Walters Picks Up First Hoosier 270 Sprint Win.
When Borger's
Speedway lost John Drake
eight years ago Brandon Azzalina was six years
old. In his wildest dreams
Brandon could not imagine that eight years
later he would be one of the top All Star
Slingshot drivers at Borgers' Speedway and win
the most prestigious Slingshot event at
Borger's Speedway the John Drake
Memorial in memory of a man he never knew.
At the drop of the
green flag Rich
Hissim took the lead from pole sitter Mike
Moyer. Soon Brandon Azzalina and JR
Fulper were hot on his tail. In the later
stages Matt Dealaman would also join the
chase. Lap after lap the top four cars were locked in position evenly
spaced for the duration of the race. Rich Hissim
took the checkered flag
but failed to pass post race tech giving the win to
Azzalina. Since his move from the Jr. Slingshots,
Azzalina’s rise to the top has been nothing
short of phenomenal making this race the highlight of his career. JR
Fulper finished second with defending 2009
point champion Matt Dealaman third.
Since moving
from Rookie 270 Sprints to the Hoosier 270 Sprints Steve Walters had not
achieved the success he had enjoyed in the Rookie class. Numerous times
Steve had victory in sight only to have Lady Luck deal him a crushing
blow. Tonight that would all change. From lap one Walters
set a blistering pace with JJ
Uliana hot on his tail. Soon Tony
Scerbo and Pat Bealer
would make their presence known. As the laps wound down
Bealer got by Scerbo
but there was no catching Walters and Uliana. Coming
out of turn 4 on a late race restart it
appeared the unthinkable was going to happen again as Walters motor
sputtered. Walters recovered and took starter Bobby Stull’s checkered
flag and made his way to victory lane. JJ Uliana
finished second with Pat Bealer third.
Rachel
Godusky took the lead on lap one in Rookie 270
Sprint action and soon opened up a straightaway lead. Coming from the
rear point leader Tiffany Wambold quickly
closed the gap but did not have enough for the high flying
Godusky. Wambold
had to settle for the bridesmaids spot with Raymond Groff in his best run
of the year third.
The last few
week in Jr. Slingshots it has been a
Kibler, Infante,
Dvorscak, Oraschin
show and this week would be no different. Joseph
Infante led the parade with Bobby Kibler
Jr. and John Dvorscak in
hot pursuit. Soon
Amber Oraschin would join
the hunt. This is how it would stay with
Infante picking up his third win of the year and increasing his
point lead. Bobby Kibler Jr. finished second
with Amber Oraschin sneaking by
Dovrscak for third.
In the make up feature
for the Stage One Modifieds it was
Joel Smith all the
way. Soon Pat VanVarik and Kyle
Rohner would make their way to the front but
would be no challenge for Smith. Smith took the win followed by
VanVarick and Rohner.
In feature number two
for the Stage One Modifieds Pat
VanVarick took the lead from pole sitter Rich
Hissim. Soon a three car battle developed
between VanVarick, Kyle
Rohner, and Joel Smith.
Rohner jumped into the lead with Smith on his
tail. A few laps later Smith would head to the pits with mechanical
problems putting VanVarick in the runner up
spot. Bobby Smith Jr.
would round out the top three.

Faces In Borger's Friday Victory Lane.
A serious accident
which closed Route 33 held Friday night car counts below their normal
levels but the on track action was at it’s
best.
Rob
Vivona jumped to an early lead in Wingless 600
Sprint action and never looked back. Vivona
lead every circuit with Tex Snyder, in his best run of the season hot on
his tail. While Snyder made several moves for the lead
Vivona held him off and took starter Rich
Raidline’s
checkered flag.
Luke Schostkewitz who ran strong all night
finished third.
Port
Murray, NJ’s
Greg Zellman’s 2010 season has been one of
frustration. Numerous times this year Zellman
had victory snatched from his grasp in the All Star
Slingshot division. Tonight it would all
change. Zellman jumped to an early out
dragging pole sitter Scott Miller to turn one. From that point on it was
all Zellman. Point leader Kurt
Bettler was soon on his tail but while trying
every trick in the book could not overtake the high flying
Zellman. Zellman
pulled into victory lane for the first time with
Bettler settling for second. Scott
Miller looking for his second win of the season had his hopes dashed by an
ill handling car but held it together to finish a solid third.

Kline and
Kibler Win Slingshot
Tour At Borger's
2009
All Star Slingshot National Champion Cody
Kline took starter Bobby Stull’s
checkered flag to
win the 2010 edition of the Speedway Entertainment Slingshot Tour at
Borger's Speedway. Brandon Azzalina
jumped to the early lead but was soon overtaken by JR
Fulper. Fulper set a blistering pace
and was soon joined by the 59 of Cody Kline. Fulper
and Kline swapped the lead back and forth with Kline going ahead for good
just before half way. Fulper finished a close
second with Kim Glass
on his tail for third.
Bobby
Kibler Jr. scored win number 4 in Jr.
Slingshot action. Kibler quickly opened a
half straightaway lead but the real battle was
for second spot. Joseph Infante who was
involved in an early race tangle charged through the pack to set up a
tight race for second place. Friday night winner TJ Lilly joined the hunt
with John Dvorscak close behind. The three
cars staged an exciting duel with Infante
prevailing for second and Lilly third.
Tony
Scerbo who has been plagued with problems all
year had it all together and picked up his second Hoosier 270 Sprint win
of the season. Scerbo took over the lead from
Steve Walters early in the race and was soon joined by Pat
Bealer. Bealer
was glued to Scerbo’s back bumped the entire
distance with Scerbo edging
Bealer
out at the finish line. Kaitlyn
Oswalt ran a strong third the entire race
bringing it home for Grandad Bill.
Zach
Weidner backed up last week’s win in Rookie 270 Sprints by once again
visiting Borger's Speedway victory lane. Ryan
Neil took the early lead but was soon in a two car battle with Weidner.
Weidner, who had to go to the rear because of an early wreck, charged
through the pack to take over the lead and in another spectacular
performance, opened a straightaway lead over Tiffany
Wambold who lost a motor in the heat and came from the rear to
finish second. Rachel Godusky was third.
Kyle
Rohner who is having great success in
big car racing still
has his heart with the small cars. Rohner
charged to the lead and put the Gary Phillips 11X in victory lane in Stage
One Modified action. Rohner jumped to an
early lead and was soon joined by
Joel Smith who was
sidelined with mechanical problems. Rich Hissim
was in the runnerup spot with John Coon third.
Bill
Weand, grandfather and owner of
Kaitlyn Oswalt’s
number one 270 Sprint, missed his grandaughter’s
first race ever. Bill underwent major surgery on Friday and we are happy
to report the surgery went well and Bill is expected to be back at
Borger's shortly. Bill,
affectionantly known as “Grumpy” kept in contact by cell phone of
the night’s action and was proud of Kaitlyn’s
run.
The
Borger's Speedway management and everyone at
Borger's Speedway wishes Bill a fast and
complete recovery and a speedy return to his friends at
Borger's Speedway.

New Faces In
Borger's Friday Night
Victory Lane
Bobby Butler
scored his first win of 2010 in Borger's
Wingless 600 Sprints.
Butler took the lead from pole sitter
Rhett Long and quickly opened a half a
straightaway lead. In the later stages of the race
Chris
Oraschin tried to track down Butler but fell
short at the checkered flag. Oraschin
settled for second with Rob Vivona third.
While being almost
unbeatable in Wingless 600 Sprints Chris Oraschin
has not had the same success in Wingless 270 Sprints. Tonight that all
changed as Oraschin won his first Wingless 270
Sprint event of the 2010 season.
Oraschin and Pat Bealer
staged an exciting two car wheel to wheel battle the entire distance with
Oraschin taking the checkered flag with
Bealer on his
rear bumper. Kurt
Bettler finished third.
After his third
place Wingless 270 Sprint finish Kurt Bettler
jumped in his All Star
Slingshot and took
the laurels in his third All Star Slingshot
win of the year. Jr. Fulper coming from the
rear tried to run Bettler down but it was not
to be and Fulper finished a strong runner up
spot. Gregg Zellman had another strong run to
finish third.
TJ Lilly edged out
Amber Orachin to take the Jr. Slingshot main
event and score his first 2010 win.

Saturday June 12.
A Mid-Summer Nights
Scream At Borger's.
As storms rumbled throughout northeast
Pennsylvania the management at Borger's
Speedway took on Mother
Nature and won. The screams from the fans drowned
out any noise that Mother Nature could dish
out as the near capacity crowd was treated to some of the fiercest action
of the 2010 racing season.
The highlight of the night was Twin 15
lap features for the Rookie 270 Sprints. In feature number one the storm
front that came screaming through was the speedster from
Bath, Pa
Zach
Weidner.
Zach has been turning faster laps each week
and this race was all his from the drop of the green. Weidner took an
early lead and set a blistering pace to win his first Rookie 270 Sprint
feature of his career since moving up from the Quarter Midgets. As the
laps wound down Tiffany Wambold who came from
the rear after an early race tangle tried every trick in the book to get
by Weidner but it was not to be. Wambold
finished second followed by Rachel Godusky.
In feature number two
Rachel Godusky finally got the monkey off her
back and took starter Richard Raidline’s
checkered flag.
Newcomer Luke Krobath finished a respectable
second with Tiffany Wambold third. Rachel
Godusky was the overall Rookie 270 Sprint
winner and with another outstanding performance Zach
Weidner finished second. Point leader tiffany
Wambold finished third.
The flashes in the Hoosier 270 Sprint main were not lightning but JJ
Uliana. Last year Uliana
won a Friday night 270 main with a borrowed motor but his quest was for a
Saturday night feature
win. Uliana
stormed around the 1/7 mile oval with determination to get the job
done. Kaitlyn Oswalt
chased Uliana most of the race but was finally
overtaken by Pat Bealer. Ed
Kenderdine slipped by for third spot after
coming from the rear due to numerous mishaps. Darin
Bartholomew also got by
Oswalt for
fourth with Kaitlyn
finishing a strong fifth.
The real storm hit with all it’s fury in All Star
Slingshot action with Terry
Frey picking up his first win of the season. Frey had victory in
his grasp a number of times this season but tonight he was not to be
denied. Cody Kline was glued to Frey’s back bumper the entire race and
soon Kurt Bettler made it a vicious three car
battle for the lead. The three leaders took the white flag and got
together coming out of turn two. Frey and Kline recovered and drag raced
to the finish line
with Frey winning by a half a car length. Brandon
Azzalina got by Bettler to finish
third.
The mini twister hit with John Dvorscak taking
his second Jr. Slingshot win of the year. John
jumped into the lead from his second place starting spot on lap two and
never looked back. Amber Oraschin dogged
Dvorscak most of the race but Joseph
Infante came on strong to nip Amber on the
white flag lap. Infante finished second with
Amber Oraschin third.
In the make up
feature for the Jr. Slingshots “All Hail Broke Loose” in the name
of Bobby Kibler
Jr. as he made his third visit to
Borger's Speedway’s victory lane.
Kibler quickly built up a straightaway lead
over John Dvorscak who finished second
followed by Joseph Infante.
Co-promoters Steve
Heckman and Rich Raidline along with
Borger's Speedway owners Glenn and Ruth Borger
and the entire
Borger's Speedway family would like to
express their deepest sympathy to Friday night announcer and Saturday
night starter Bobby Stull on the loss of his mother.
Thoughts and Prayers to Bobby and the entire Stull family.

While
Jim Peters
Adds To His Win List In
All Star Slingshots.
Chris
Oraschin notched his 5th win in
Wingless 600 Sprints in
Friday night action at Borger's
Speedway. Pole sitter Rhett Long jumped to an
early lead to be overtaken by Jake Winters. Soon
Oraschin joined the hunt in a two car battle for the lead with
Winters. Oraschin
inherited the lead late in the race when Winters
was set back for jumping a start. Winters recovered to chase down
Oraschin but now in her second appearance of
the 2010 season Geordan
Farry became a real threat in her bid to overtake the leaders. A
fierce 3 car battle for the lead developed but the laps ran out and
Oraschin took the win with Jake Winters and
Geordan Farry a
close second and third.
Amber
Oraschin kept it all in the family by winning the Jr. Slingshot
feature.
Jim Peters added to
his win list in All Star Slingshot action as
the points race
tightened up. Peters worked his way to the front with point leader Kurt
Bettler on his tail. Rich
Hissim soon made it a three car battle for the
lead. Peters prevailed to take the
checkered flag with
Kurt Bettler second and
Richie Hissim third.
Co-promoters Steve

Borger's Speedway owners Glenn and Ruth Borger

Joseph
Infante jumped to an early lead and never
looked back to notch his second Jr. Slingshot win of the 2010 season at
Borger's Speedway. Infante
wasted no time in opening a straightaway lead but the real battle was for
the bridesmaid spot. John Dvorscak, Bobby
Kibler Jr., and Amber
Oraschin battled lap after lap with Dvorscak
coming in second followed by Amber Oraschin.
In Jr. Slingshot
feature number two Bobby Kibler Jr. ran a
strong race to also win his second Jr. Slingshot feature of the year. The
high flying Kibler was chased to starter Bobby
Stull’s checkered flag
by Joseph Infante who came from the rear by
virtue of the invert from feature number one to finish a close second.
Dvorscak
also having a stellar night finished third.
Derek Krum has been
knocking on the door of a Rookie Sprint feature win the entire season and
tonight the door opened. Krum who has been running stronger each race ran
a flawless race and entered Borger's Speedway
victory lane. Rachel Godusky came on strong
during the closing laps but was no match for Derek.
Godusky settled for second with Zach
Weidner third.
The
All Star Slingshot main had to be the “Edge
Of Your Seat” race of the night. It appeared
to be a battle of the veterans as Terry Fry jumped to an early lead. Soon
Richie Hissim and
Stan Friedman were in “Hot
Pursuit” locked in a three car battle for the lead. As the laps
wound down and the five to go was given the youngster
Zach Azzalina in a breathtaking move
dove under the three cars
racing down the backstretch and came out on top to the delight of
the screaming fans who by now were on the edge of their seats.
Azzalina made his second trip to victory lane
this year followed by Terry Fry and Stan Friedman.
Ed
Kenderdine once again made his way to victory
lane in the Hoosier 270 Sprints. Kenderdine
drove a masterful race but it was not an easy job. Bruce
Leote led the early go
arounds but was soon chased down by Kenderdine.
Pat Bealer joined the hunt and got by
Leote for second spot. Bruce
Leote who is having an outstanding season and
has a feature win in his future finished
third.
Joel Smith
continues to make his home in victory lane in the Stage One
Modifieds taking the laurels tonight. Kyle
Rohner chased Smith the entire distance but
did not have quite enough to get around Smith.
Rohner came in the runner up spot with
Bobby Smith Jr.
third.

Oraschin, Glass, Snyder Visit
Borger's Victory Lane
Chris Oraschin
continued his winning ways to capture his 4th Wingless 600
Sprint feature of the 2010 racing season at Borger's. In only her second
appearance at Borger's, Geordan Farry proved to be a thorn in Oraschin’s
side as she turned in an outstanding performance challenging Oraschin the
entire 20 lap distance. In a last lap effort to grab the lead her car got
out from under her but Geordan will be a lady to be reckoned with in the
future. Rhett Long who is also having a tremendous season finished second
with Tex Snyder third.
Michael Glass jumped into the lead at the drop of the green and led every
circuit to win the Wingless 270 Sprint main at Borger's Friday night.
Kurt Bettler ran a strong second but could not catch the high
flying Glass. Bettler settled for second while
Jeff Ubel rounded out the top three.
Nick Snyder was like a
rocket ship from the drop of the green and easily won the All Star
Slingshot feature.
Snyder kept increasing his lead while the real battle was for second
place. Last week’s feature winner Mike Glass came from deep in the pack
to challenge second place Kurt Bettler. After some tight racing Glass got
by Bettler for second with Kurt having to settle for third. Amber
Oraschin continued her winning ways winning the Jr. Slingshot feature.

Chad
VanHorn Best At
The Burg.
Chad
Van Horn took advantage of Keith McIntyre’s misfortune to win the $300 to
win "Battle In The Burg" for Wingless 600
Sprints. McIntyre led from the drop of the green until mechanical woes
caused him to spin coming out of turn four for the
checkered flag. Chad VanHorn who kept
the pressure on McIntyre scored his first win in his first appearance at
Borger's Speedway. Rob
Vivona finished second with Luke
Schostkewitz third.
In the Wingless 270
Sprints Pat Bealer dominated the field to park
the Chuck Clark 44 in victory lane. Dave Dornblaser
kept the pressure on to finish second with Eric
Trautman third.
The 270 Vs 600 Sprint
Dash found Dave Dornblaser in a 270 barely
edging out the 600 of Keith McIntyre. The two racers staged a thrilling
two car duel the entire 10 lap distance with
Dornblaser barely ahead at the
finish line. Steve
Dzienis finished third.
For the second week in
a row Gregg Zellman was the man to
beat and appeared to come out on top in
All Star Slingshot action.
Zellman dominated the entire main and took the
checkered flag but triumph turned to heartbreak as
Zellman failed to pass post race tech. Michael Glass who took the
Snyder Stairs Climb The Stairs Challenge starting
last came from the back to win the $100 bonus. A
persistent Richie
Hissim finished second with
Jim Conroy third.

Family Dominates Friday Victory Lane.
Horvath First Time
Winner. Bettler
Two Time Winner.
It appears that Chris
and Amber Oraschin have taken a liking to
Friday night victory
lane at
Borger's Speedway. Chris became a
three time winner in the Wingless 600 Sprints after a thrilling two car
duel for the lead. Early leader Rhett Long
tried to hold off Oraschin but
Oraschin slipped by to take his third win of
the season. Rhett Long finished second with
Luke Schostkewitz
third.
Not to be outdone by her dad Amber Oraschin
visited Friday night victory lane for the fifth time this season.
Jenna
Schostkewitz kept
the pressure on Amber finishing second in her sleek black number 27.
Louie Horvath who was practically unbeatable in Quad competition found his
way to victory lane in his first ever feature win in the Wingless 270
sprints. Tim Quinter chased Horvath to the
finish line a mere
one car length behind in another close finish in the Wingless 270 Sprints
with Kurt Bettler finishing third.
Bettler
then hopped into his All
Star Slingshot to win his second Friday night main of the year.
Greg Zellman, in his best run of the season,
led every go around until
Bettler slipped by with three to go.
John Drake also got
by Zellman to finish second with Greg
finishing third. A feature win is in Greg Zellman’s
reach in the near future.

Kibler
New Winner... Hissim
Surprise Winner...
Bealer
Repeat Winner... Wambold
5 Time Winner...
Saturday night
racing action continues hot and heavy at the
1/7 mile Saylorsburg
oval under perfect spring time racing conditions. Eleven year old Bobby
Kibler Jr. made the move
from quarter midgets to Jr. Slingshots saying he wanted to go fast
and fast he went. Kibler jumped to the lead
at the drop of the green and burned up the Borger's
oval leaving the rest of the field in his dust. Running strong the entire
season Bobby took starter Bobby Stull’s
checkered flag a
half lap ahead of the rest of the field.
Clint Miller
finished second with John Dvorscak third.
After a slow start
2009 defending Hoosier 270 Sprint Champion Pat Bealer
scored his second straight win in the 270 Sprints.
Steve Walters kept
the pressure on Bealer finishing a close
second with Dave Dornblaser rounding out the
top three.
In
All Star Slingshot action
veteran drivers John
Drake, Richie
Hissim, and Stan Friedman were hooked on each other’s bumpers the
entire 25 laps. John Drake
came out on top but for the second time this year Rich
Hissim was declared the winner due to a
disqualification. Drake failed post race tech
giving Hissim the win and Stan Friedman
second. Justin Zucal in his best run of the
year finished third.
Tiffany
Wambold found her way back to victory lane but
the path to get there is becoming tougher as the rest of the Rookie 270
Sprinters are learning the tricks of the trade. Early leader Derek Krum,
in his best performance of the year, held off Wambold
the first half of the race until Tiffany slipped by. Rachel
Godusky coming from the rear made a valiant
charge but with Wambold’s
straightaway lead needed a restart which did not happen to make a
serious challenge. Wambold made it win number
five with Godusky second and Alex
Reinsmith third.

Scott Miller Adds His Name
To Borger's Win
List
as The Oraschin
Family Continues To Dominate Borger's Victory
Lane.
Whoever said that “Good

would help anyone and literally give you the shirt off his back. After
missing some races earlier in the season due
to health issues Scott put everything together and scored his first
All Star
Slingshot feature
win. Scott led from the drop of the green driving a masterful race and
never gave up the top spot. Nick Snyder tried every trick in the book to
get by the high flying Miller but it was not to be. Scott capped off a
perfect evening by setting fast time, winning his heat and then winning
the All Star Slingshot
feature. Nick Snyder was second followed by Kurt
Bettler.
The
Oraschin family continues to dominate victory
lane in Friday night action
at Borger's.
Chris
Oraschin won his second Wingless 600 Sprint
feature of the year with Mike Freed, in his first appearance of the year,
finishing a close second. Freed put the pressure on
Oraschin the entire race but did not have quite enough to snatch
the lead from Chris. Freed finished second with
Geordan Farry rounding out the top three.
Tex
Snyder hooked the inside berm in turn three
a did a spectacular series of end over end
flips. Snyder was uninjured and was able to finish the race.
Not to be outdone by

Two Win Streaks End and One Gains Steam.
The win streaks of
Tiffany Wambold and
Joel Smith came to
an end but Amber Oraschin doubles
Friday and Saturday night
Jr. Slingshot wins for the second week in a row.
Defending Hoosier
Hoosier 270 Sprint champion Pat
Bealer finally got the monkey off his back and
made his way to Borger's
victory lane. Ed Kenderdine challenged
Bealer on numerous occasions but
Bealer increased his lead and took a
commanding win. Dave Dornblaser rounded out
the top three.
In Rookie Sprint
action Rachel Godusky survived a crash filled
rookie main and broke Tiffany Wambold’s four
race win streak. The two lady wheel twisters swapped
the lead back and forth with Godusky coming
out on top. Zach Weidner finished second with
Wambold third
Youngster Brandon
Azzalina showed the veteran All Star
Slingshot racers the quick way around Borger's
Speedway taking his first win of the season. Once
Brandon gained
the lead he never looked back and left the rest of the pack in his dust.
Stan Friedman finished second with
Brandon Berger
third.
The big question is
can anyone stop Amber Oraschin in Jr.
Slingshots? Nick Timar driving the race of
his career had other ideas. Nick led from lap one and fought of a hard
charging Dylan Martin with Oraschin in
hot pursuit.
Heartbreak set in as the white flag dropped with
Timar and Martin tangling giving Amber the opportunity to duck
under the leaders and take her fourth straight win. Nick
Timar managed to salvage second with John
Dvorscak third.
Gary Phillips said he had set two
goals in Stage One Modified racing with his driver Kyle
Rohner. One was to win the
West End Fair
Nationals which Kyle did and to set a new Stage One Modified track
record. Kyle set a blistering pace and broke the
Borger's Speedway Stage One Modified track record and ended
Joel Smith’s three race win streak. Rohner
led from lap one and was not to be caught. Taking the
checkered flag
something broke but the smoking 11X limped it’s
way to victory lane. Joel Smith finished second with
Bobby Smith Jr.
third.

at Borger's
Rob
Pajauis making his first trip to
Borger's Speedway quickly found his way to
victory lane in the Wingless 270 Sprint main. In a thrilling two car
battle with Borger's defending champion Pat
Bealer, Pajauis
was determined to hold his lead with Bealer
hooked to his rear bumper. As the laps wound down
Bealer made several attempts to get under the high flying
Pajauis but could not pull it off. Louie
Horvath in his best run of the year finished third.
Rhett
Long made his first trip to victory lane and also became the youngest
Wingless 600 Sprint winner in the Friday night series. Long made it a
perfect night by winning his heat and set a blistering pace to the
checkered flag over
Tex Snyder. Colton Rex rounded out the top three.
Jim Peters jumped to
the early lead in All Star Slingshots and
fought off a hard charging Rich Hissim. As
Peters and Hissim fought for the lead JR
Fulper had other ideas. In a last lap pass
Fulper dashed under
Hissim with the three cars finishing
under a blanket.
Three weeks ago Amber
Oraschin was involved in a horrific main
straightaway crash during
Saturday night action. Since that crash this young lady has come
back with a vengeance winning every race since. Bobby
Kibler Jr. kept the pressure on the entire 15
laps but did not have quite enough to keep Amber from her new home in
victory lane.

Borger's All Star
Slingshots
While Kenderdine,
Wambold, Smith Repeat And Amber O
Makes It Two In A Row.
The past 4
years Bob Camps has been one of Borger's
Speedway’s most loyal supporters. Saturday night Bob pulled off
the upset of the season by holding off a hard charging Stan
Friedman and Rich Hissim to win his
first ever All Star Slingshot
feature. From the drop of the green Friedman and
Hissim tried every trick in the book
to get by the sleek blue 94 but Camps had other ideas. As the
laps wound down Camps pulled away from Friedman and
Hissim and took starter Bobby Stull’s
checkered flag
with a near straightaway lead.
Not to be
outdone, Amber Oraschin came off a
Friday Jr. Slingshot win to repeat in Saturday night’s Jr.
Slingshot main. Ryan Raidline jumped
into the early lead but could not hold off the hard charging black
number 10. Raidline finished second
with Joseph Infante third.
Ed
Kenderdine took advantage of Dave
Dornblaser’s
wheelstand during a late race restart winning his second
straight Hoosier 270 Sprint feature. Mark
Manieri in a strong run held the lead until
Steve Walters
took command. Walters looked to be on his way to his first
feature win until a spark plug wire ended his night.
Dornblaser finished second with Pat
Bealer third.
Tiffany
Wambold made it
four in a row
in Rookie 270 Sprint action with Derek Krum who is knocking on the
door for his first win second and opening night winner

Wheel To Wheel
Duel Nets Doug Snyder Borgers Wingless 600
Win.
If the wheel to
wheel duel by Doug Snyder and Rob Vivona is
any indication the Wingless 600 Sprints have found a home at
Borgers Speedway. The Wingless 600
speedsters proved beyond any doubt that Borgers
Speedway is a multi groove racetrack
From the drop of the green the
lead see sawed back and forth between Snyder and
Vivona. A late race tangle sent Snyder to the rear which he
overcame and charged through the pack to resume the side by side battle
with Vivona. Snyder slipped under
Vivona coming out of turn four to take the
checkered flag and
become Borgers third different feature in the
Wingless 600 Sprints. Rob Vivona finished
second followed by Tex Snyde
Making his first
appearance of the 2010 season Nick Snyder showed he meant business by
winning the AllStar Slingshot main. Rich
Hissim tried to close the gap but did not have
enough for the high flying Snyder. Hissim
finished second with Kurt Bettler third.
After taking a
hard hit while leading last Saturday’s Jr. Slingshot feature Amber
Oraschin came back to make it two in a row on
Friday nights winning the Jr. Slingshot feature.

Borger's
Beats The Rain To Close Out April Racing
With the threat of rain in the forecast
Borger's Speedway managed
to beat the rain as the final
checkered flag
fell on the first month of racing for the 2010 season.
Four time
Borger's Speedway champion Ed
Kenderdine set a blistering pace to
capture the Hoosier 270 Sprint feature as
raindrops started to fall. 2009 champion Pat
Bealer chased
Kenderdine the entire 30 laps but could not mount a
serious challenge and finished second with Tony
Scerbo rounding out the top three.
Northeast racing legend George Wambold
joined his granddaughter Tiffany Wambold
in victory lane as she picked up her third Rookie 270 Sprint
feature win. In the early laps Rachel
Godusky appeared to be a serious challenge for
Wambold but mechanical problems
sidelined her while in the lead. Derek Krum chased
Wambold to the
finish line
with Zach Weidner rounding out the
top three.
In
All Star Slingshot action Stan
Friedman looked to make it two in a row by edging out a hard
charging Rich Hissim.
Hissim had his nose under Friedman a
number of times but just did not have quite enough to pull off
the win. However Friedman failed to pass post race tech and the
win went to Hissim with
Terry Frey
second and Zach
Azzalina third.
In
the story of the night Jr. Slingshot point leader Joseph
Infante pulled off an impressive win
in making his first trip to victory lane. While catching leader
Dylan Martin, Infante made a late
race move getting under Martin and blazed his
way to starter Bobby Stull’s
checkered flag. Dylan Martin finished second with Angelica
Timar putting on one of her best
performances for third.
Joel Smith
continued his winning ways in an action packed Stage One
Modified feature. John Coon finished an impressive second in
one of his best runs ever with Billy Fisher in his sharp looking
00 finishing third.

Fierce Racing Warms A Cold Night At
Borgers.
Saturday April 17, 2010.
While temperatures hung in the low 40’s the “Stars” of
Borger's Speedway heated up the night with
torrid wheel to wheel action.
In
the Hoosier 270 Sprints Dave Dornblaser made
it look like victory lane will be a familiar place in 2010.
After a wheel to wheel battle with Pat
Bealer and Ed Kenderdine,
Dornblaser took his second
checkered flag of the season with Bealer
and Kenderdine rounding out the top three.
Tiffany Wambold set a new Rookie 270 Sprint
track record in heat number one of the Rookie 270 Sprints. Tiffany was
not satisfied with one record but broke her own track record
and completed a perfect evening by pulling
into victory lane. Rachel Godusky chased
Wambold the entire 20 laps but did not quite
have enough to make a pass. Derek Kurm
finished a close third.
Stan Friedman turned 70 years old last week and celebrated his birthday in
victory lane winning the AllStar Slingshot
main event. The youth of Borger's Speedway
was not to be outdone as Zach
Azzalina turned in another outstanding
performance to finish right on Friedman’s rear bumper. Completing the
senior sandwich 64 year old Rich
Hissim finished third.
Jon Dvorscak overcame an early race mishap
coming from the rear to score his first Jr.
Slingshot win. Joseph Infante proved that
persistence pays off and after coming from the rear two times scored a
very impressive second place finish with Taylor Eccles third.
In Stage One Modified action
Joel Smith scored his second win of the season and set a new track
record with Pat VanVarick second and
Bobby Smith Jr.
third.

Hot
Action On Cold Night At
Borgers
Saturday April 10, 2010.
With
temperatures in the 40’s race fans were
treated to hot track action on the
1/7 mile Saylorsburg oval. In 270 Sprint action Tony
Scerbo’s long string of bad luck came to an
end as he captured the
first point race of the 2010 season. After burning a piston in the
heat his father Dave replaced the piston by feature time with Tony scoring
a strong win. Defending 2009 champion Pat
Bealer followed
Tony across the finish line with Bruce Leote
in one of his stongest finishes a close third.
Tiffany
Wambold dominated the Rookie 270 feature
starting from the pole and leading every lap to take starter Bobby Stull’s
checkered flag.
Rachel Godusky finished a
straightaway behind with Derek Krum third.
In
Allstar Slingshot action Rich Hissim
took the checkered flag with Azzalina
brothers Zach and Brandon, who just moved up
from Jr, Slingshots, hot on his tail.
Hissim failed post race tech and the win went
to Zach Azzalina
who with brother
Brandon thrilled the spectators with a stellar performance. Terry Fry
rounded out the top three.
Once again
the Jr. Slingshots were the hot ticket. Dylan Martin proved that last
week’s win was no fluke becoming the season’s first repeat winner. It
looked like Joseph Infante was heading for his
first win when a late race bobble opened the door for a spectacular move
by Martin coming out of the fourth turn, ducking under
Infante and Amber
Oraschin for the win.
Sometimes you make good
decisions in life and sometimes you make bad decisions. Those were the
words of Gary Phillips as he beamed in pride referring to the decision he
made in putting Kyle Rohner in the driver’s
seat of his 11X Stage One Modified.
Gary
related how this was the best decision he ever made in his long
involvement in racing as a driver and owner. Kyle
Rohner, the defending West End Fair Nationals Stage One Modified
Champion put the sleek yellow racer in Victory Lane over a hard charging
Joel Smith who tried
every trick in the book but could not get around the high flying
Rohner. Smith finished second with Pat
Vanvarik third.
